The purpose of the Parent Council is to provide a voice for all our parents and carers, working with the school and the local authorities on issues that are important to us and our children. As parents and carers we have a lot to offer the school in terms of interests, skills, and experience and it is this partnership that helps to support the education and welfare of our children.
The primary role is represent the collective views of parents and engage in constructive dialogue with the school to improve the overall educational experience for all students.
Being involved in the Parent Council can involve as much or as little time as you like. In terms of time, we meet every two months for approximately two hours where we discuss any current issues and often arrange for people to come and talk to us about services associated with the school.
- A decision-making body that dictates school policy
- A forum for individual complaints about a staff or student member
- Not solely focused on fundraising activities. This is predominantly led by the school or other community groups.
